Burna Boy, Davido, Omah Lay, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid nominated for Best African Music in 2026 Grammy Awards.

The Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles California United states hosts the 68th GRAMMY Awards which takes place on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026. The show will also be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network and streamed live and on demand on Paramount+.The full list of nominees released by the Grammy recording academy shows 95 GRAMMY Categories ahead of Music’s Biggest Night. The nominees were announced on 30th January 2026  during a livestream, with artists that included Chappell Roan, Doechii, KAROL G, Mumford & Sons, Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Smith, and more presenting all 95 GRAMMY Categories. The nominations announced span a wide range of artists, genres (pop, country, rap, R&B, Latin, global, jazz, and beyond), and projects from established acts to first-time nominees across wide-ranging creativity in music.

In the Best African Music act category songs nominated include “Love” by Burna Boy, “With you” by Davido featuring Omah Lay, “Push 2 Start” by Tyler, “Gimme dat” by Ayra Starr featuring Wizkid, “Hope & love” by Eddy Kenzo and Merhan Matin.

Davido is a favourite of Nigerians to win the 2026 Best African Music category. Davido has been commended for his artistic original and hard work in propagating his music across the world in recent times.

Voting members of the recording academy will have to vote for winners to emerge. The academy voter comprise a peer group composed of music creators, including artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, and more. The GRAMMY Award is globally recognized as music’s only industry-recognized, peer-voted honor.

The 2026 GRAMMYS also introduces two new GRAMMY Categories — Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover; demonstrating the Recording Academy’s commitment to recognizing a broader spectrum of artistic craft and honoring the evolving ways music is created and experienced.
